Requirements
Specific Responsibilities
- Service (repair and calibrate) a variety of routine electronic and/or mechanical instruments and sub-assemblies; perform electronic repairs to the board level, and to the component level when required; perform optical and electronic calibrations on recently repaired instruments. Repairs are primarily performed in-house.
- Help customers by phone in basic troubleshooting of their instrumentation and provide part numbers to customers as requested; issue return authorization numbers to customers as requested.
- Follow up with customers after completing repairs topromote service contracts and service business.
- Help in building spare parts and assembliesfor stock as required.
- Serve as a back-up in handling departmental administrative tasks, which primarily entails handling phonevolume, issuing RMA numbers, and ensuring customer needs are met.
Qualifications
Successful completion of electronicsor technical undergraduate coursesor equivalent work experience
AA inElectronics or technical certification preferred
Familiarity with basic test equipment (ie, Digital Volt Meter/DVM) preferred
Familiarity with proper soldering technique preferred
Mechanical-assembly experience a plus
Excellent verbal & written communication skills; excellent customer service skills/capacity
Working knowledge of MS Office required
SAP or Salesforce knowledge desirable
Special Position Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs. on a regular basis
