International Logistics Lead

Your task structure


The International Logistics Lead (ILL) will facilitate and support the transportation process for international transactions. ILL will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating Air or Ocean export operational activities. ILL will make sure company policy and shipping rules and regulations are followed

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in performance evaluations of Export Logistics providers
  • General awareness of logistics market conditions changes and trends and be able to communicate these back to the business.
  • Create and Implement operational procedures, for best practices.
  • Ensure international suppliers are effectively managed and held accountable through measured performance and continuous improvement. Including delivery performance, quality improvement, cost reduction/control, and response time.
  • Management of the forwarding arena (booking, pickup arrangement, planning and follow-up of shipment in the forwarding area and during the transport process)
  • Ensures handling of required Export documents according to regulations and internal procedures
  • Communicate shipment status with Customer Service during transport;
  • Identifies incidents, ensures resolution of incidents and provide corrective actions
  • Supports Customer Service in the incident and exception management resolution
  • Identifies training needs and opportunities to develop a highly skilled functional department
  • Daily monitors of all Int’l shipments through internal and external data reports.
  • Ability to identify and address problematic moves
  • Obtain data of rolls and delays, report that info to responsible parties needed to advise customers
  • Attend weekly management meetings to report on pending shipments from Booking Req through PGI.

Your recipe for success


  • Knowledge on laws governing shipping of chemicals
  • Must be detailed orientated with focus of superior customer service advocacy
  • Must have the ability to interact with employees or customers at all levels
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics or Supply Chain Management is a plus
  • SAP Knowledge
  • 5+ years’ experience
  • Knowledge of Shipping Terms
  • Must successfully complete appropriate DOT, IATA, IMDG training

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong Analytical skills
  • Knowledge of INCO Terms, Shipping Conditions
  • Speak clearly on phone
  • Understand people with various accents
  • Transportation Management
  • Ability to travel (10%)
  • Self-Starter with desire and ability to learn
  • Experience in Excel, Word, Outlook, and SAP
  • Ability to understand needs and interpret in tangible tasks in a timely manner.
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to manage time effectively and plan working schedule
  • Work independently but in cooperation with internal departments
